Execution

This entry includes an Execution in its Action or Effect.

These actions and effects may only target subjects or victims with the Vulnerable condition.

Some Executions are beneficial.

Aliquem Morte Afficere

Weapon Types: Any & Weaponless

This action is granted to all characters and units.

Proactive & Triggered Action: When an Adversary becomes Vulnerable within a 3 Tile Reach, you may activate Aliquem Morte Afficere.

Activation

Celerity: 3 Action Slots
Movement: 2 Tiles
Reach: 1 Tile

Effect: Execution

Aliquem Morte Afficere may Knock Out or End the target.

Choosing to Knock Out the target causes them to be Knocked Out for the next 10 Minutes.

Choosing to End the target ends their story.

This is the End

There is no bringing others back from the end of their story without rewriting the story. Even the greatest divine mystics don’t have the power to bring back the dead. The only way is to go back in time and change the outcome of the event, and even then, there is a chance of Deathwatch. It was simply their time.

The purpose of most Executions including Knock Out is a simple one. There are no accidental deaths in the mechanics. You have a choice whether or not to use a Lethal Action when you activate an Execution.

Story Guide’s Notes

There are actions and effects in the game which bring characters or units back from the dead without them being Onum.

The setting doesn’t account for these effects.
A character capable of doing so is truly remarkable.

Unfortunately, since the dead nearly always rise as Onum, especially in certain areas, it may be difficult for supporting characters to see someone brought back to life as anything more than a walking corpse.

The Developer

If you stumbled here by accident, that’s all gravy. We use these pages in our archives as templates, style guides, reference content, and reusable assets. I’m also getting to write the FAQ, which is fun.
